Ottawa has 3 family New Year's Eve events on Thursday, December 31, 2026, from $23, and between them they cover the whole day. At lunchtime, Hammond Golf hosts a family party with an early "midnight" balloon drop. In the evening, Layla Banquet Hall's Great Gatsby gala gives kids and teens a supervised hall of their own and wraps up at 11:30 pm. What to know before you book

  • Pick the event that matches bedtime. The Hammond lunch is the only one that suits toddlers' and young children's routines. Layla ends at 11:30 pm, which is late but before midnight. Sala San Marco runs until 1 am, so it's best for older kids who can manage a late night.
  • Ticket prices follow age bands. Layla sells adult single and couple tickets, a youth ticket for 10 to 18, a kids' ticket for 5 to 9, and free entry for children under 5. Sala San Marco has an adult ticket and a 3-to-12 children's ticket, both plus HST.
  • Know what's supervised. Layla's kids' and teens' hall is supervised, with its own games and prizes. Sala San Marco and Hammond don't list a supervised area, so children stay with you.
  • Food is included at two. Hammond's ticket includes a seated lunch, and Sala San Marco's includes dinner and the late-night buffet. Layla has a cash bar, so plan to eat beforehand or check the gala page for food.
  • Dress up if you like. Layla encourages vintage, Roaring Twenties outfits.
  • The free option isn't confirmed yet. The Ottawa Christmas Market's free New Year's Eve with fireworks hasn't announced its 2026 plans. We'll add it to the Ottawa guide when it does.
