How much does New Year's Eve cost in Canada? Ticket prices by city, 2026

We took the starting price of every New Year's Eve party in our guide. Half of them start at $44 or less, but the gap between cities, and between a club night and a gala, is bigger than you'd think.

The short answer: the typical New Year's Eve party in Canada starts at about $44 a ticket. That's the median starting price across the 61 parties in our guide that have published a price, out of 95 listed in 12 cities (checked October 29, 2026). Half start below $44, half above.

That one number hides a lot. A "New Year's Eve ticket" covers everything from free entry at a downtown Toronto bar to a $214 hotel gala in Coal Harbour, and the city you're in moves the price as much as the kind of party you pick. Here's the breakdown.

How we counted

  • Every party in our guide is checked against the organizer's or ticket seller's own page. For each one we record the starting price: the lowest ticket on sale on the day we checked.
  • 61 of the 95 listed parties had a price posted. The other 34 are listed but haven't published prices yet, or sell by inquiry only, so they're left out of the numbers.
  • We use the median (the middle price), not the average, so a single $5,000 VIP package doesn't drag the picture up.
  • Some cities only have one to three priced parties so far. Read those rows as a snapshot, not a trend.
  • More parties post prices every week. We'll refresh these numbers as they do, and the "Updated" date above tells you when we last did.

Toronto has the widest spread. At one end, Petty Cash on Adelaide West has a limited free early-bird entry. At the other, An Istanbul Night in Richmond Hill charges $200 for an all-inclusive adult ticket with dinner and unlimited drinks for guests 19 and over. Ten of Toronto's 19 priced parties start at $50 or less.

Vancouver has the priciest top end. Its most expensive starting price is the early-bird ticket for the Fairmont Pacific Rim gala. Its cheapest is $20 for four punk and metal bands at The Cobalt. With a $75 median, it's the most expensive of the big cities after Calgary.

Calgary's median is high because of what's in the ticket. Most of its priced parties are dinner-and-show nights or concerts, topped by Kelly Taylor at The Laugh Shop at $109.95 with dinner. Its cheapest door is general admission at Ranchman's for $25.

Edmonton and Montréal are the cheapest big-city nights. Edmonton's priced list is mostly bar and live-music nights, from $20 at The Dive Bar up to $108.07 for the Rave On show at Pure Casino. In Montréal, every party with a published price so far starts between $26.02 and $40. They're mostly club and party nights. The city's bigger galas haven't posted prices yet, so its median may rise.

Niagara Falls looks expensive, but read the fine print. Only two parties there have posted prices, and the cheaper one is a package: at the Wyndham Grand Fallsview, $119 is the starting price for a room plus two party tickets.

One party can count as more than one type. A hotel gala with dinner counts as a dinner, a gala and a hotel package.

The big jump comes when food and drink go into the ticket. Bar parties, club nights, comedy and concerts all have medians between $25 and $38. Once dinner is included, the median passes $100. Open-bar parties have the highest median of all at $135, but compare what you get. At Mirage Banquet Hall in Etobicoke, $100 covers a buffet dinner, an open bar and entertainment. 18 of the priced parties include a champagne toast at midnight.

The top end: tables and VIP

Starting prices only tell you the cheapest way in. Many parties sell VIP tiers that cost far more:

  • Vancouver's Hotel Georgia gala starts at $108 for general admission. A Platinum VIP table is $1,850 and the VIP Tudor Experience is $5,000, the most expensive tier we found anywhere in Canada.
  • The Andrew Rayel show at Harbour Event Centre starts at $50. Its published ticket range on Do604 runs up to $2,425.93.
  • At Ranchman's in Calgary, the Loft for 30 guests is $2,100. Split 30 ways, that's $70 a head. A VIP table for six is $450, or $75 each.

If you're going as a group, divide the table price by the number of guests before ruling it out. Nine of the parties in our guide offer bottle service.

Buy early: the ladder is real

Many sellers raise prices in steps, and the steps add up:

  • The Fairmont Pacific Rim gala lists $200 early-bird tickets until December 5, then $225.
  • At Estrella in Montréal it's $20 in advance, $30 regular and $40 at the door.
  • FUR in Hamilton is $35 early, $40 in advance and $50 at the door.
  • The Dive Bar in Edmonton is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

On New Year's Eve the door price assumes there's still room. Many of the cheapest tiers are capped, so "from" prices go up as they sell out.

What the starting price leaves out

  • Fees. Some ticket pages include service fees in the price they show and some add them at checkout. Check the total before you pay.
  • Sales tax. If tax isn't already in the price, it varies by province. According to the Canada Revenue Agency's rate table (checked October 30, 2026), the HST is 13% in Ontario. Alberta charges only the 5% GST. In British Columbia, Manitoba and Québec the 5% GST can be joined by a provincial sales tax.
  • Getting home. It isn't on the ticket, but it's part of the cost of the night. Our Niagara Falls hotel packages page lists parties that bundle a room.

How to spend less

  • Pick a bar or club night. 34 of the 61 priced parties start at $50 or less, and 48 start at $100 or less.
  • Buy before the first price step. The examples above save $5 to $25 a ticket.
  • Do the per-head math on tables when you're going with a group.
  • Compare all-inclusive tickets against a cheaper door plus a night of drinks.

Our under-$100 pages list every party that starts at that price or less, updated as prices change: Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Montréal and Ottawa. Planning something bigger? Start with Toronto's NYE dinners or Vancouver's NYE galas.
