If you want a party that's easy on the wallet and close to everything, Estrella on the lower Main is worth a look. The bar sits at 1165 boulevard Saint-Laurent, a short walk from the Quartier des Spectacles and Chinatown, so it fits well after dinner downtown. Doors open at 10 p.m. and the night runs until 3 a.m.

The music covers hits from the 80s, 90s and 2000s through to today, so the crowd tends to sing along as much as dance. Drinks are pay-as-you-go from the full bar, which keeps the ticket price low: advance tickets are listed at $20, regular at $30 and $40 at the door (Eventbrite shows about $26 to $38 with fees).
