Why we like it

“A veteran Canadian rock band playing an early, all-ages show leaves you plenty of the night left for the countdown.” — clubZone NYE editors

About this party

Veteran Canadian rock band Streetheart is closing out the year at Club Regent Event Centre, the concert hall attached to Club Regent Casino. The band plays on December 31, with doors at 7 pm and the show at 8. Tickets start at $44 plus taxes and fees through Ticketmaster, and the show is listed as all ages, so it works for a family outing or a group of friends who grew up on Canadian rock radio. Because it starts early, you can catch the full set and still have time to move on to another party, or stay at the casino for the countdown. Club Regent is on Regent Avenue in the city's northeast, with plenty of parking. Go to the official Ticketmaster link; resale prices are usually higher.

Directions

Plan your ride home before you head out. Check Winnipeg Transit's New Year's Eve service plan: late or extra service is often announced in December. Book a taxi or rideshare early, because demand peaks right after midnight, and never drink and drive.
