“Dinner, a headliner and champagne at midnight for around $130 all-in is a fair deal for a guaranteed good time.” — clubZone NYE editors
A comedy club is one of the most reliable places to spend New Year's Eve: the seats are guaranteed, the food comes to you, and somebody else is in charge of keeping the room happy until midnight. The Laugh Shop on Blackfoot Trail is booking comedian Kelly Taylor for its countdown night. Doors open at 7 pm, the buffet dinner starts at 8, the show begins at 10, and champagne is poured at midnight, with party favours on every table. Dinner and show is $109.95 before fees, front-row seats cost a little more, and there's a hotel package for two at $389 if you'd rather not drive. The timing works well: dinner's done before the show, and the set ends right as the countdown starts. It's a seated, social night that suits couples and small groups more than people looking to dance.
